When my daughters Amanda, Lauren and I drove up to board our cruise at the port in Palm Beach Fl, we were truly happy campers. Reasons being we were about to partake on our 4 day Land and Sea adventure on the beautiful Grand Celebration cruise ship.  I use the word adventure as it was my girls first cruise. But there was excitement in their eyes prior to arriving. Reason’s being my girls did watch (several times) our Perillo Travel VR 360/VR video showcasing the Grand Celebration on our newly launched App! Enabling them to have an “Immersive ” experience prior to boarding the cruise ship and all of it’s offering’s. And we weren’t disappointed!

Some fast facts about the Grand Celebration include: She was originally built for Carnival Cruise Line. Has been in operation for the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line since February 3, 2015. 750 total Staterooms; 450 Oceanview Staterooms and a 1,900 total capacity within the Staterooms and Terrace Suites combined. Onboard culinary excellence included in your All-inclusive packages include Steller Prime (Deck 8), a sit down restaurant which features a violinist rotating from table to table. The Ocean View Buffet has everything you could imagine and the Plunge Grill (Both on Deck 10), which next to the main pool area that serves tasty burgers, hot dogs and fries during lunch, transforms into an omelet station for breakfast. From sunrise to sunset, there’s always something happening every moment!

Here is a summary of our 4 day Land and Sea package. First night we slept on the ship and arrived at port in Freeport, Grand Bahama enjoying  beautiful morning views.

We had an extremely efficient departure through customs. We boarded a complimentary shuttle for a 20 minute scenic ride, spending our next 2 nights at the Grand Lucayan Bahamas Resort. We stayed at their all-inclusive building called Lighthouse Pointe. It features 196 rooms including 6 Ocean Breeze Suites which are all a stones throw from the ocean waves. Activities and amenities include tennis, golf, private beach, ping pong, foosball, fitness center, spa and two swimming pools

We enjoyed the variety of on-property restaurants and bars, where you can take your pick from a wide selection of fine cuisine and premium drinks. The turquoise waters also include non-motorized water sports such as snorkeling and kayaking. You can also venture off-property to the adjacent Port Lucaya Marketplace, the islands shopping and dining center.

Upon arrival we were able to enjoy a wonderful gourmet buffet breakfast at Portobello’s, where you can dine indoors or on the poolside patio. Self-service style meals are included for breakfast and lunch, transforming to a traditional Italian restaurant at night. From there we hit the beach. Within hours my girls had their hair braded and purchased some attractive Bahamian corral jewelry on the beach. There is a very nice beach restaurant called Waves Bar & Grill. There you can enjoy a classic grill menu with a vast array of tropical drinks amongst other fine fare, their famous Bahamian Conch Fritters.

In the evening we dined at Capri Pizzeria with the informality of Italy’s favorite seaside retreat with a Bahamian twist. It is open daily. At night, it transforms into an intimate fine dinning atmosphere. 

After two fun-filled days we boarded the shuttle from the hotel to go back to the Grand Celebration cruise ship for our overnight voyage back to Palm Beach.
